Miss Itapiranga Paula Francinete barred from coronation after water‑shortage post

Paula Francinete, the reigning Miss Itapiranga 2025, said the municipal government removed her dress and prevented her from participating in the 2026 coronation after she shared a social‑media post urging improvements to the water supply in a city neighbourhood. The incident occurred during Itapiranga's 118th‑anniversary celebrations on 25 June.

Francinete claims the mayor, Thiago Lima, ordered the dress to be taken and that she was told she would not hand over the crown and sash to her successor. She says she has messages confirming the communication, while the city hall has not responded.
