Miss Morbihan Candice Baloche condemns brother's assault over family name

Candice Baloche, a 23‑year‑old who was crowned Miss Morbihan 2026 and is a candidate for Miss France 2027, posted an Instagram video on 31 July. In the video she disclosed that her younger brother had been physically assaulted in a public street because he bore the family surname “Baloche”, describing the attack as a direct consequence of mockery and harassment linked to their name.

Baloche emphasized that she regards the surname as a source of strength and called for respect for personal identity. She used her platform as a regional titleholder to highlight broader issues of name‑based discrimination and urged the public to stop such behavior.
