Miss Uganda wears C-section inspired gown to Miss World event

Miss Uganda Elle Muhoza wore a couture gown titled ‘The Layers of Life’ during the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest as part of the Miss World activities. Designed by Ugandan designer Keesha Abdallah, the garment serves as a tribute to motherhood, womanhood, and the biological process of childbirth.

The gown features seven distinct layers of fabric in varying colors and textures—including white, yellow, pink, and red—to represent the anatomical structures encountered during a C-section. These layers include the skin, adipose tissue, fascia, abdominal muscles, peritoneum, uterus, and the amniotic sac.

Abdallah, inspired by her own recent experience as a new mother, stated that the design aims to celebrate the miracle of life and the human body. She emphasized that the colors were chosen to represent different stages and transitions of the journey rather than any specific race, noting that ‘life is universal.’
