Miss Universe Vietnam 2026 winners apologize for leaked chat controversy

Miss Universe Vietnam 2026 winners Nguyễn Quỳnh Anh and runner-up Trịnh Mỹ Anh are facing significant public backlash following the leak of private group chat messages. The leaked conversations allegedly contained disparaging remarks about other celebrities and pageant figures, including Kỳ Duyên and Trịnh Hồng Đăng.

Both Quỳnh Anh and Mỹ Anh have issued public apologies, acknowledging that their words were inconsiderate and caused harm. During a recent media tour, Quỳnh Anh and Mỹ Anh directly apologized to runner-up Trịnh Hồng Đăng for the perceived insults. However, the interaction was described by observers as awkward and forced.

Trịnh Hồng Đăng addressed the controversy by clarifying that she never used the term “hấp hối” (dying/critical condition) to describe her friend's passing, as suggested by the leaked messages. She noted that the misinformation caused her significant distress and public criticism.
