Miss World 2026: African contestants compete in Vietnam

The Miss World 2026 festival is currently underway in Vietnam, featuring 24 contestants from across the African continent. The competition includes various challenges such as Top Model, Sports, and the Head-to-Head Challenge, which offers contestants a pathway to the Top 40.

In the African Head-to-Head Challenge, South Africa’s Romanda Hombir emerged as the winner, securing her place in the Top 40. Malawi’s Ireen Navicha, who advocated for her ‘When a Mother Is a Child’ project aimed at supporting teenage mothers through education, did not win the round but remains in contention for the Top 40 through other selection routes.

The African delegates represent a diverse range of professional backgrounds, including medical professionals, entrepreneurs, and advocates. The grand finale is scheduled to take place on 5 September in Nha Trang.
