Missing 11-year-old boy found safe in Brazil
An 11-year-old boy who had been missing from Pedro Juan Caballero, Paraguay, since last Wednesday has been found safe in Brazil. The child had disappeared from the Frontera Verde sector following a disagreement with his mother.
After reports placed the boy in Ponta Porã, Brazil, where he was seen with an adult pushing a motorcycle, the Brazilian Military Police located him at a settlement in Itá Maratí, approximately 50 kilometers from the border. Brazilian authorities convinced the child to return and handed him over to the Paraguayan National Police.
Following orders from the Public Ministry, the minor underwent a medical inspection before being reunited with his mother. Local residents had previously suggested the child often left home due to alleged mistreatment by his parent.
