Missing 74-year-old man found dead in the Waal

The body of a 74-year-old man from Heusden, who had been missing since Tuesday, August 18, was discovered in the Waal river near Zaltbommel.

Police located the body near a stone dam along the riverbank. The discovery follows an intensive search operation that included ground teams and police helicopters. Earlier in the disappearance, the man's bicycle was found at the Waalbandijk in Zaltbommel. Authorities have stated that they do not suspect any foul play in the death.
