Missing academic Sylwester Gładyś linked to CBA testimony

Dr. Sylwester Gładyś, a 71-year-old academic, went missing in Warsaw on February 24, 2026. His disappearance follows a session with the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) the previous day, where he provided testimony regarding real estate claims on Pańska Street.

Before vanishing, Dr. Gładyś noted in his calendar that he had not signed a specific power of attorney document presented to him. While police are investigating the possibility of suicide or an accident, his family disputes this theory, noting his active lifestyle and the absence of a suicide note or recovered personal items like his trekking poles.

Security footage last placed the scientist entering Młociński Park toward the Vistula River. His mobile phone was last logged in that area at 5:28 PM.
