Missing Alzheimer's patient found alive in Çanakkale

A 79-year-old man suffering from Alzheimer's, Hasan Cihan, has been found alive in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale. Cihan had been missing for two days after leaving his summer home in the Sazlıaltı area, stating he intended to travel to Istanbul.

Following a report to the gendarmerie, extensive search operations were conducted in the Sazlı village area, specifically focusing on olive groves and forested terrain. The search involved gendarmerie personnel, including commando units, as well as AFAD and AKUT teams. Cihan was located safe in an olive grove and was subsequently transported to Ayvacık State Hospital for precautionary medical checks.
