Missing elderly man found dead near Lake Wenatchee

The body of 86-year-old Carl Pruitt was discovered on Monday evening in a remote area near White River Road, approximately 30 miles northwest of Lake Wenatchee in Chelan County.

Pruitt had been reported missing after last being seen in Wenatchee on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 15. His white 2021 Ford F350 pickup truck was last spotted heading northbound on Horse Lake Road on Sunday afternoon. Following his disappearance, the Washington State Patrol issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Wenatchee Police Department.

Chelan County Sheriff's Office Chief Ryan Moody stated that foul play is not currently suspected, though the investigation remains in its early stages. This incident marks the third elderly person found deceased in the rural Chelan/Douglas County area within the last two months.
