Missing NC Woman Elizabeth Waddell Searched for in Grenada

Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, a 44‑year‑old physical therapist and founder of Art of Movement Physical Therapy in Cary, North Carolina, was last seen on July 22, 2026 at Grand Anse Beach in St. George’s, Grenada. Police say she disappeared around 8 a.m. (some reports cite the afternoon) after leaving her towel on the pier and going for a swim. The Royal Grenada Police Force issued a missing‑person alert, describing her as about 5 feet tall, medium build, with short blonde hair, and appealed to fishermen, boat operators and coastal residents for information. Her husband, Cailen Waddell, an operations manager for the Cary Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources, flew to Grenada to assist the search and posted an urgent plea on Facebook for help and prayers. The U.S. State Department confirmed it is aware of the case. Family and friends describe Liz as adventurous, free‑spirited and well‑known in her community. Search efforts continue on the beach, nearby waters and surrounding terrain, coordinated by Grenadian authorities.
