Eric Conrado Alves de Almeida arrested for killing ex-girlfriend and child

Police in São Paulo have arrested 41-year-old businessman Eric Conrado Alves de Almeida, the primary suspect in the deaths of lawyer Anna Gabriela Faria Lima, 29, and her 6-year-old son, Raphael Faria Lima Ferrari.

The victims were found dead in an apartment in Cotia, Greater São Paulo, on November 3. Investigators believe the victims were drugged before dying of asphyxiation. The case is being investigated as feminicide and vicaricide.

Evidence suggests the suspect attempted to conceal the crime by cleaning the apartment and using incense to mask the odor of the bodies. Security footage showed the suspect entering the residence with the victims on November 1 and leaving alone early the following morning. Almeida, who holds both Brazilian and Portuguese passports, was on an Interpol wanted list before being located in the Jaguaré district of São Paulo.
