Mission Creek Regional Park trails closed for infrastructure projects

Several areas of Mission Creek Regional Park are undergoing temporary closures starting Monday, August 10, to accommodate two major infrastructure and habitat restoration projects.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) is overseeing the installation of riffles in Mission Creek to oxygenate the water, improve salmon habitat for the upcoming kokanee spawning season, and enhance natural flood protection. Additionally, construction is underway at the Gerstmar Bridge to improve the Mission Creek Greenway, aiming to bridge a gap in the off-road trail network between Ziprick and Gerstmar roads.

Closed sections include portions of the Mission Creek Greenway between the Dogwood Loop trail and Graham Road, the Ziprick Road parking lot, Cottonwoods Bridge, and the Soopollalie trail. The RDCO advises visitors to follow all signage, avoid construction zones, and use alternate routes.
