Mission Hill Winery budget wines featured in summer wine guide
Five Vineyards, the budget-label brand of Okanagan’s Mission Hill Winery, offers a range of affordable, drinkable wines for the summer season. Its Sauvignon Blanc, priced at $19.50, delivers lively acidity that works well on a patio or with salmon. The Italian Altopiano Terre di Chieti Sangiovese from Abruzzo, sold for $20, shows cherry, plum and blackberry fruit with a dry, juicy palate and pairs with richer pastas, pizza and cheeses. Argentine producer Zuccardi’s 2024 Serie A Malbec, a high‑altitude wine from Mendoza, costs $29 and offers blackberry, plum and cassis flavors with peppery, herbal notes, suited to lamb. South Australia’s Big Crush Cabernet Sauvignon, available for $17, is described as soft‑mid‑bodied with cassis, plum, blackberry and a hint of chocolate, recommended with lamb, barbecue or bolognese. All wines are stocked at the retailer Everything Wine.
