Community and charitable initiatives launch across Italy

Various charitable and community initiatives are being launched across Italy. The AISM (Associazione Italiana Sclerosi Multipla) is organizing its annual ‘Mela di AISM’ from October 2 to 4, where volunteers in thousands of squares will distribute apples in exchange for donations to support multiple sclerosis research and patient rights.

In Tuscany, the organization EMERGENCY is selling ‘Cantucci di Pace’ biscuits between October 2 and 4 to fund maternal and child health services in Gaza, Sudan, and Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the Misericordia di Pistoia is launching a free first aid training course for citizens starting October 19, and the Croce Rossa Italiana in Pontedassio is offering new volunteer training courses.

Other local events include the Croce Rossa Italiana in Varese hosting a ‘Pizzoccherata’ dinner on October 10 to fund socio-assistance services, and the Missione Valentina group in Parma launching a fundraiser for its 15th humanitarian convoy to provide essential supplies to Ukraine. Additionally, the ninth edition of the ‘Montepagano’ Poetry and Narrative Prize was recently held in Roseto degli Abruzzi to celebrate local writers.
