Mississauga animal services rescue python from car engine

On July 13, 2026 a resident in Mississauga, Ontario discovered a ball python trapped in the engine compartment of their vehicle. After the resident called a mechanic, Mississauga Animal Services responded and an officer reached into the engine, where the snake calmly climbed onto the officer’s arm for safe removal.

The dehydrated python suffered only minor scratches and was taken to the Mississauga Animal Shelter. Officials said the reptile is now recovering under proper care. The city did not identify an owner, and no further details were given about how the exotic pet entered the vehicle.
