Mississauga to receive new French-language primary care clinic
The Ontario government is investing in a new French-language primary care team in Mississauga to serve approximately 4,800 Francophone patients in Mississauga and the Peel Region. Managed by the Centre Francophone du Grand Toronto (CFGT), the clinic is expected to open in early 2027 at 90 Burnhamthorpe Road West.
The investment includes an initial $2.1 million, with over $2 million allocated annually. This initiative is part of Ontario’s $3.4 billion primary care action plan, which aims to connect every resident in the province with a family doctor or primary care team by 2029.
Minister Natalia Kusendova-Bashta noted that Francophone residents deserve access to high-quality services tailored to their needs. Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Sylvia Jones stated that expanding primary care teams will help improve family health and reduce pressure on hospital emergency departments.
