Mississippi Book Festival draws thousands to Jackson

The 11th annual Mississippi Book Festival drew thousands of attendees to the state Capitol and Galloway United Methodist Church in Jackson. The event serves as a gathering for readers of all ages to meet authors and celebrate the state's literary heritage.

Among the featured participants was Mychal Threets, known as ‘Mychal the Librarian,’ who is the host of the revived ‘Reading Rainbow’ television program. Threets, an advocate for literacy, distributed copies of his book, ‘I’m So Happy You’re Here: A Celebration of Library Joy,’ and spoke about the importance of making libraries accessible to everyone.
