Mississippi State defeated Minnesota 38-13 in their first-ever football matchup. Quarterback Kamario Taylor led the Bulldogs' offense, completing 16 of 22 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns, while also contributing 86 rushing yards.

Running back Fluff Bothwell added 113 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and wide receiver Anthony Evans III recorded 121 receiving yards and a score. The Bulldogs' performance marked their largest road victory since 2021.

Minnesota struggled offensively, finishing with no touchdowns and only 292 total yards. The Golden Gophers' rushing attack was limited to 15 yards, and the team was hampered by 12 penalties totaling 115 yards. Despite a defensive touchdown by linebacker Joey Gerlach that forced a fumble and cut the deficit to 28-13 in the third quarter, Minnesota could not overcome the Bulldogs' lead.
