Mississippi State dominates Louisiana-Monroe 62-13 in season opener

Mississippi State opened its football season with a 62-13 victory over Louisiana-Monroe. Quarterback Kamario Taylor led the offense, which set a program record with 762 total yards. Taylor recorded 413 total yards, including 354 passing yards and four touchdowns, while adding 59 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.

The Bulldogs established a dominant 41-3 lead in the first half before the game concluded with reserves seeing playing time. Defensively, Mississippi State limited Louisiana-Monroe to 278 total yards and held them to 3-for-16 on third-down conversions.

Following the performance, former player Tim Tebow praised Taylor’s talent on SEC Nation, describing him as a “baller” and an “absolute freak” with the potential to become a superstar.
