Alabama football faces pressure following consecutive losses
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is navigating a difficult period for the Crimson Tide following consecutive SEC losses to Georgia and Tennessee. The 5-2 team, which began the season 5-0, is facing scrutiny regarding its offensive performance, particularly after a 26-10 defeat against the Volunteers.
Former Alabama quarterback Jake Coker has publicly questioned starting quarterback Keelon Russell’s grasp of the offensive system. Following the Tennessee game, in which Russell threw for 147 yards and two interceptions, Coker suggested the offense might need to be ‘dumbed down’ to improve execution.
DeBoer acknowledged the mounting pressure, noting that the current situation is ‘really uncomfortable’ for a program that had not lost consecutive regular-season games since 2007. As Alabama prepares for an upcoming matchup against Texas A&M, the team's ability to remain in College Football Playoff contention remains a primary concern.
