Missolonghi sea turtle found injured following reports of swimmer bites

A sea turtle found in the Tourlida area of Missolonghi has been discovered with severe injuries, including the loss of its front left flipper. The animal is reportedly struggling to swim, raising concerns about its survival.

This discovery follows several reports from swimmers in the region who sustained bite wounds from marine animals. While swimmers have linked the aggressive behavior to the turtle's injury and subsequent difficulty swimming, official confirmation that this specific animal is responsible for the bites has not yet been established.

The Missolonghi Port Authority and ARCHELON (Sea Turtle Protection Society) have been notified to assess the turtle's condition and determine if intervention is necessary. Authorities are now tasked with managing both the protection of the injured animal and the safety of swimmers in the area.
