Missoula Kona Bridge Fishing Access Site proposed for bank stabilization

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is proposing a project to repair and stabilize the streambank at the Kona Bridge Fishing Access Site (FAS) located on the Clark Fork River in Missoula.

The 2.75-acre site currently includes infrastructure such as a concrete block boat ramp, asphalt paved road, parking area, signage, and a vault latrine. The proposed improvements aim to address issues related to heavy use and bank stability in the area.

A public comment period is currently underway and will run through September 23. The project is subject to environmental review under the Montana Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) to assess potential impacts on the physical and human environment.
