Missoula police investigate separate thefts of cash and power tools

Missoula police have investigated two separate theft incidents involving significant property loss.

In the first case, surveillance footage from a Lowe's store captured a man picking up a lost wallet containing approximately $3,000 in cash, a driver's license, and a Veteran's Affairs card. Following social media identification and assistance from a probation and parole officer, police identified the suspect as 53-year-old Sherman Crosby. Officers located Crosby at his residence to conduct an investigation.

In a second incident, a man reported that approximately $2,000 worth of Milwaukee power tools were stolen from a secured trailer. An officer patrolling the area observed 28-year-old Joshua Dyslin with a bike trailer filled with power tools. Upon inspection, the tools were found to have the victim's name written on them in Sharpie. Dyslin claimed he had been asked to look after the items by two individuals from the Poverello Center.
