Missouri and Kansas primary elections scheduled for Aug. 4

Voters in Missouri's Scott County will cast ballots in the August 4 GOP primary, deciding contests for presiding commissioner, circuit court clerk and several county offices, as well as tax questions for the North and South Scott County Ambulance Districts. The Republican ballot features the only countywide races, with candidates such as incumbent Presiding Commissioner Danny Tetley facing challenger Chad Schlosser, and incumbent Circuit Court Clerk Stacey Naile challenged by Angela Fisher.

In Kansas, the August 4 primary will feature more than 1,800 positions statewide, including races for governor, secretary of state, attorney general and U.S. Senate, plus a proposed constitutional amendment on Supreme Court appointments. The state has issued guidance on voter eligibility, registration deadlines, and the use of provisional ballots, emphasizing that all eligible voters will have the opportunity to cast a ballot despite registration or identification issues.
