Missouri Department of Agriculture awards $26,000 in spay and neuter grants
The Missouri Department of Agriculture has announced the recipients of spay and neuter grants for 2026 through the Animal Care Facilities Act (ACFA) Program. A total of $26,000 in funding has been awarded to various eligible organizations.
These grants are intended to support nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies that provide low-cost spaying and neutering services for dogs and cats to individuals who cannot otherwise afford them. The funding is generated by donations from the sale of “I’m Pet Friendly” specialty license plates.
Recipients include several regional agencies such as the Animal Protective Association of Missouri, St. Louis Audrain Humane Society, Mexico Benefitting Animals through Responsibility and Compassion (BARC), and the Rolla Spay & Neuter Collaborative of Kansas City, among others.
