Missouri GOP Primaries Pick Senate District 6 and House Candidates

Six Republican hopefuls are competing for the GOP nomination for Missouri’s Senate District 6, an open seat due to term limits. Candidates include restaurant owner Amber Buckles, Camden County Commissioner Todd “Ike” Skelton, former Jefferson City councilman Derrick Spicer, former state Rep. Lisa Thomas, state Rep. Rudy Veit and businessman Jake Vogel.

In related primaries, incumbent U.S. Rep. Jason Smith won the 8th District Republican primary with about 86 % of the vote, and State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick secured roughly 85.5 % in his race. Both will face Democratic and Libertarian opponents in the November general election.
