Misterbianco coffee shop used as drug trafficking front

Carabinieri officers arrested a 34-year-old man in Misterbianco after discovering that his coffee shop was being used as a front for drug trafficking. The investigation began following reports of suspicious activity, specifically a pattern of individuals entering and exiting the premises within seconds.

During a targeted operation, authorities intervened as the shop owner was allegedly attempting to deliver drugs to a customer. A subsequent search of the premises, supported by canine units from Nicolosi, uncovered 60 doses of cocaine and 5 doses of crack hidden among coffee packaging on the store shelves.

Investigators also seized a precision electronic scale and approximately 9,000 euros in cash. The money was found hidden in a compartment under a desk rather than in the business register, leading authorities to believe it was proceeds from illegal sales.
