Misteri d'Elx implements heat measures at Santa María Basilica

Organizers of the Misteri d'Elx have implemented heat mitigation measures at the Basilica of Santa María following several instances of heat-related illness during rehearsals. After a young performer required medical attention, causing a temporary pause in the production, authorities took steps to improve air circulation.

New measures include opening the doors of the Sol, Organ, and Main portals, as well as opening the stained glass windows in the nave and presbytery. Additionally, fans have been installed in various locations throughout the temple, specifically targeting areas with high concentrations of participants and the high stage machinery areas where temperatures are most extreme.
