MİT Chief İbrahim Kalın holds critical intelligence summit in Athens

Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT) Chief İbrahim Kalın conducted a high-level visit to Athens, meeting with the head of the Greek National Intelligence Service (EYP), Themistoklis Demiris. The summit addressed a wide range of security and diplomatic issues, including regional security, counter-terrorism, human trafficking, and organized crime.

During the discussions, Turkey emphasized its commitment to a constructive and good-natured approach toward its neighbor, while simultaneously asserting that it will not tolerate unilateral actions in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean. Key points of contention discussed included the militarization of islands and maritime boundaries. The meeting serves as a critical touchpoint for managing the complex security architecture and long-standing disputes between the two nations.
