Ümit Uysal releases book on Turkey’s future in the AI era

Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal has released a new book titled ‘21. Yüzyılda Yeniden Cumhuriyet – Modernleşmenin Yapay Zeka Çağındaki Yeni Aşaması’ (The Republic Again in the 21st Century – The New Stage of Modernization in the Age of Artificial Intelligence). Published by Cumhuriyet Kitapları, the work examines Turkey’s path forward amidst the challenges of the artificial intelligence revolution and intense global competition.

During the book's promotion in Gazipaşa, Uysal emphasized that the only way for Turkey to cope with 21st-century competition is to unite around the founding philosophy of the Republic. He addressed issues such as political polarization, economic uncertainty, and the erosion of trust in institutions. Uysal argued that the country must confront its historical challenges—specifically the economic and political dependencies experienced during the 19th-century Ottoman era—to develop realistic solutions for contemporary problems. The book advocates for reforms in law, ethics, production, and transparency to strengthen national unity and technological advancement.
