Mitch Duke scores spectacular goal for Machida Zelvia
Retired Australian striker Mitch Duke scored an extraordinary goal for his Japanese club Machida Zelvia during an Asian Champions League fixture against Cambodian champions Svay Rieng in Tokyo.
In the 20th minute of the match, the 35-year-old Duke controlled a bouncing ball approximately 30 metres from goal, flicked it over a defender, and struck a swerving left-footed volley that hit the underside of the crossbar. The goal contributed to a 2-0 victory for Machida Zelvia.
Fellow Australian Tete Yengi secured the win with a clinical finish following Duke's substitution. This performance follows a recent run of form for Duke, who has recorded goals and assists in recent matches since rejoining the J-League side.
