Mitch Freedman targets Sydney racing features for Attrition and Asakura
Ballarat trainer Mitch Freedman is targeting major Sydney racing features for two of his horses, Attrition and Asakura.
For Attrition, a Group 1 winner, the primary spring objective is the $2 million Hill Stakes on October 10. Freedman noted that the horse’s preparation has been adjusted to allow for more early work. Attrition has also been nominated for the $300,000 Group 2 PB Lawrence Stakes at Caulfield and the $200,000 Spring Preview at Rosehill.
Asakura is also being prepared for significant upcoming races. Following a period of illness, the gelding has shown positive progress in recent jumpouts. Freedman intends to give Asakura every opportunity to qualify for the $10 million Group 1 Golden Eagle at Randwick on October 31.
