Mitch Kalitta Debuts in Top Alcohol Dragster at NHRA Nationals
Mitch Kalitta, 25, the son of two‑time NHRA Top Fuel champion Doug Kalitta, will make his Top Alcohol Dragster debut with Randy Meyer Racing at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals held at Brainerd International Raceway. The rookie campaign begins this weekend and will continue through the 2026 season.
Kalitta grew up at Kalitta Motorsports, helping assemble engines and work on the team’s championship‑winning operation before ever climbing into a car. He previously raced in Shawn Langdon’s Super Comp dragster at the U.S. Nationals and added a victory in the 2026 World Series of Pro Mod bracket race, experience he says prepared him for the move into the sport’s quickest sportsman class. “I have been involved in drag racing my entire life,” he said, noting his father has driven Top Fuel since 1998.
