Mets prospect Mitch Voit goes viral for appearance

New York Mets prospect Mitch Voit has gained significant social media attention following his recognition as the organization’s Developmental Player of the Year. During a media availability at Citi Field, video of the 21-year-old infielder went viral, with many social media users joking that his polished facial features and perfect hairline made him look like an AI-generated character or a ‘Ken doll.’

Despite the online focus on his appearance, Voit has demonstrated strong performance on the field. Selected 38th overall in the 2025 MLB draft, the former Michigan player has been a standout in the minor leagues. This season, he recorded a .273 batting average with 13 home runs and 45 stolen bases across Single-A and Double-A levels.

Voit, who previously played as a two-way player in college before elbow surgery transitioned him to a full-time infielder, is currently ranked as the No. 4 prospect in the Mets' system. His recent performance at the Double-A level with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies showed significant improvement, including a .347 batting average in a 29-game sample.
