Mitchell Freeway crash causes peak-hour traffic chaos in Perth

A multi-car crash on the Mitchell Freeway near the Hay Street overpass caused significant traffic delays in the Perth CBD during Wednesday morning peak hour. The incident, reported shortly after 7:30 am, blocked multiple northbound lanes, including the left and right emergency lanes.

St John Ambulance attended the scene, but no individuals required hospital transport. Police and towing services were deployed to manage the accident.

Additional traffic disruptions occurred across the metropolitan area due to vehicle breakdowns. A breakdown on the Tonkin Highway northbound at Dunreath Drive near Perth Airport blocked the right emergency lane, while another breakdown on the Kwinana Freeway northbound at Farrington Road in North Lake blocked the left emergency lane.
