Mitchell Hashimoto launches Superlogical with faster terminal multiplexer

HashiCorp co‑founder Mitchell Hashimoto has started a new company, Superlogical, to build a server‑side terminal multiplexer that promises higher speed and better job tracking than existing tools such as tmux, Zellij and GNU Screen. The product leverages the Ghostty terminal emulator and its libghostty library to keep a persistent session state on the server, allowing users to disconnect and later resume work without losing context.

Superlogical describes the multiplexer as a way to provide a fundamental "stateful session" primitive for developers, agents and infrastructure. "A terminal multiplexer may sound like a narrow place to start a company," the company notes, but argues that the terminal is a common denominator across modern software stacks and that faster, persistent sessions could enable more durable agentic layers in future systems.
