Mitchell Marsh breaks Tim David's T20 run record
Australian T20 captain Mitchell Marsh has become the first Australian batsman to score 1,500 runs in a single T20 calendar year. He achieved this milestone while playing for Sunrisers Leeds against Welsh Fire in The Hundred at Headingley.
Marsh reached the mark after scoring 50 runs off 34 balls, bringing his total T20 runs for the year to 1,502. In doing so, he surpassed the previous record held by Tim David, who scored 1,461 runs in 2022.
Marsh's 2026 campaign includes runs across various major leagues, including the IPL with Lucknow Super Giants, the Big Bash League with Perth Scorchers, and the Australian national team. He is now positioned to potentially break James Vince's record for the most runs in a single season of The Hundred.
