Mitchell Marsh in contention for Test cricket comeback

Mitchell Marsh is being considered for a return to Test cricket ahead of Australia’s upcoming three-Test series against South Africa in Durban. Australian captain Pat Cummins indicated that Marsh remains a viable option for the red-ball format, noting his strong performance in white-ball cricket and his ability to act as a destructive force in the middle order or at number three.

Marsh has demonstrated significant form during the current ODI tour in South Africa, recording his third successive half-century with a 56-run knock off 42 balls in Potchefstroom. This performance helped Australia reach a total of 322/9. During the series, Marsh has also surpassed 1,000 career ODI runs against South Africa.
