Mitchell Ray Williams sentenced to 35 years for child pornography production

Mitchell Ray Williams, a 40-year-old man from Mankato, has been sentenced to 35 years in federal prison for the production of child pornography. Williams pleaded guilty in federal court last November.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for Minnesota, Williams used messaging applications to share child pornography and recorded a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct during October 2024. Investigators recovered hundreds of files from his possession, nine of which involved visibly prepubescent victims.

Federal prosecutors identified Williams as a “repeat sexual predator,” noting that he has two prior convictions for encouraging child sexual abuse in another state, dating from 2005 and 2017. The investigation was a joint effort by the FBI and the Mankato Police Department.
