Boston Celtics sign Mitchell Robinson to bolster frontcourt depth

The Boston Celtics have bolstered their frontcourt depth by signing Mitchell Robinson to a three-year, $47.3 million contract. Robinson, an NBA champion, is expected to enhance the team’s rebounding and rim protection.

Robinson expressed high confidence in his upcoming season, noting that he is taking his post-game recovery more seriously to mitigate past injury issues. Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens praised the acquisition, stating that Robinson is a proven player who makes teams better.

Robinson’s arrival will create competition for minutes at the center position with Neemias Queta. Queta, who earned a contract extension through 2031 following a strong previous season, stated he welcomes the new teammate and is not concerned about the rotation change. He has focused on improving his versatility and defensive communication during the offseason.
