Mitchell Santner rejects BBL offer to focus on New Zealand national duties

New Zealand white-ball captain Mitchell Santner has rejected a lucrative offer from the Adelaide Strikers to play in the Big Bash League (BBL). Santner stated he chose to prioritize his national duties, specifically the upcoming Test series against India and a tour of Australia.

Regarding the upcoming series against India, Santner noted that the visiting team will face challenges adapting to New Zealand conditions. He highlighted that pitches in October and November can behave differently than those in February or March, often causing the ball to move more.

Santner emphasized his commitment to his role within the national side, noting that the upcoming summer of cricket is a significant period for his career. He expressed a desire to maintain his captaincy and focus on the high-profile international fixtures ahead.
