Mitchell’s Bay to receive new mailing address this October

Residents of Mitchell’s Bay will have their mailing place name updated starting in October 2026. Following a request from the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, Canada Post has agreed to replace “Dover Centre” with “Mitchell’s Bay” in local mailing addresses.

While the place name will change, postal codes and all other address details will remain the same. To facilitate the transition, Canada Post will offer a complimentary one-year mail-forwarding service for mail and parcels addressed to the former “Dover Centre” name.

Affected residents and businesses are expected to receive direct information from Canada Post in September regarding the change and any necessary actions. Local officials noted that the update serves to better reflect the community's distinct identity.
