MITJANS association launches to represent Valencian media

The Valencian Association of Media, MITJANS, has officially launched at the Palau de la Música in Valencia. The association serves as a collective body for 63 media outlets, including press, radio, television, and digital platforms across the Valencian Community.

President Santiago Calaforra stated that the organization is not a corporate lobby but a representative body for professionals and companies dedicated to providing verified, local information. The initiative succeeds the 18-year legacy of AMDComVal, expanding its scope to the entire regional communication ecosystem.

During the inaugural gala, which included the first MITJANS Awards, the association presented three key demands: respect for journalistic work from political parties, transparency and equity in institutional advertising from administrations, and responsibility from citizens regarding the verification of information.
