Mito HollyHock dismisses manager Daisuke Kimimori

Mito HollyHock has announced the dismissal of manager Daisuke Kimimori following a period of poor performance in the J1 League. The decision comes after the team suffered a six-match losing streak, leaving them in 17th place. Their most recent match resulted in a 0-6 defeat against FC Tokyo.

Football Director Naoki Mori will take over as the new manager. Mori previously served as the top team manager from May 2024 to December 2024, during which he led the club to its first J2 championship and subsequent promotion to J1.

In his departure statement, Kimimori expressed regret for the inability to secure points and thanked the players, staff, and supporters. General Manager Koji Honma stated that the club made the decision to change leadership to ensure the team fights for J1 survival with 26 matches remaining in the season.
