MITO SettembreMusica celebrates 20th anniversary in Milan and Turin

The 20th edition of the MITO SettembreMusica festival will take place from September 6 to 20, 2026, across Milan and Turin. Under the artistic direction of Speranza Scappucci, the festival’s theme is ‘Harmonia,’ a concept intended to bridge diverse musical repertoires, generations, and locations.

The program features over 60 events, including symphonic concerts, chamber music, and itinerant performances. The festival will open on September 6 at Milan’s Teatro alla Scala with Benjamin Britten’s ‘War Requiem,’ performed by the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai and the choirs of Teatro Regio di Torino, conducted by Simone Young. The festival will conclude on September 19 at Teatro Dal Verme with the Bamberger Symphoniker.

In addition to major venues like Teatro alla Scala and Teatro Dal Verme, the festival aims to reach diverse audiences by utilizing churches, neighborhood auditoriums, and local theaters throughout both cities.
