Mitr Phol Group implements low-carbon agro-industrial model

Mitr Phol Group is developing a ‘Carbon Neutral Complex’ to address increasing climate risks and evolving international trade regulations. The initiative aligns with the group's commitment to reach Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Global climate data from the World Meteorological Organization indicates that 2015–2025 was the warmest eleven-year period on record, threatening global food security. Thailand faces significant vulnerability, ranking 17th globally in climate risk, while its readiness is ranked 123rd out of 192 nations. The World Bank estimates that climate change could reduce Thailand’s GDP by 7% to 14% by 2050 if proactive measures are not taken.

Furthermore, international trade standards are shifting. Regulations such as the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), along with reporting requirements in China and Singapore, mean global competitiveness now depends on decarbonization, traceability, and environmental transparency.
