Mitr Phol Group targets Net Zero emissions by 2050

Mitr Phol Group has announced its commitment to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This initiative comes as global climate data from the World Meteorological Organization indicates that the period between 2015 and 2025 has been the hottest 11-year span on record, significantly impacting global food security and agriculture.

Thailand faces substantial climate risks, ranking 17th globally on the Climate Risk Index 2026, while its adaptive capacity remains low. The World Bank warns that without proactive measures, climate change could reduce Thailand's GDP by 7-14% by 2050. Additionally, international trade regulations such as the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) are increasing pressure on industries to maintain environmental transparency and low carbon standards.

In response, Mitr Phol is implementing a ‘Carbon Neutral Complex’ model. The group aims to align its operations with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) to ensure economic growth alongside social and environmental responsibility throughout its value chain.
