Mitre Line Tigre branch railway track renewal progresses

Renovation work is progressing on the Tigre branch of the Mitre Line, with more than 35 kilometers of tracks and 38 of the 47 kilometers of the third rail already updated. Upcoming weekend works include the replacement of two track switches (ADV), which are essential for operational safety and service reliability.

These interventions are being carried out under the National Government's Railway Emergency decree. The project aims to address sections with tracks and sleepers over 40 years old, which currently require trains to travel at precautionary speeds, causing delays and cancellations. To minimize service disruption, major works are being scheduled during weekends to allow for longer work windows than typical nightly shifts.
