Mitrovica Mayor Faton Peci ends cooperation with AKR

Faton Peci, the Mayor of Mitrovica, has terminated his political cooperation with the AKR party. This decision follows a court ruling in a defamation case brought by Behgjet Pacolli against Peci regarding statements made in November 2024.

As a consequence of ending the partnership, Peci has dismissed Gani Rrustemi from his position as Director of Economy, Development, Tourism, and European Integration. Gjergj Beka, the AKR leader in Mitrovica, confirmed the dismissal and stated that while political coalitions may end, the party remains committed to working for the citizens of Mitrovica.
